You send money to your friends, family, and acquaintances.* We recommend asking them to sign up with Zelle before you send money — this will help them get paid quickly.
Since money sent in minutes* directly from your bank account to other people’s bank accounts, it’s crucial that you only send money to people you trust, and always make sure to use email or phone number US mobile correct. Zelle should not be to send money to people you don’t know.
Can business accounts use Zelle? How can I start?
It is easy! Log in to the GECU Mobile App and select “Send Money with Zelle ” under “More. Enter your email address or US phone number, receive a unique verification code you need to enter, and then agree to the terms and conditions — and that’s it! We recommend signing up before someone sends you money — this will help you get your first payment faster.
You can find a list of all banks and credit unions participating with Zelle here. Don’t be concerned if your recipient’s bank is not on the list! The list of participating financial institutions is continuously growing, and your recipient can still use Zelle by downloading the Zelle app for Android or iOS.
To sign up with the Zelle app, your recipient will enter basic contact information, an email address, a US mobile phone number, and a Visa ® or Mastercard ® debit or credit card with an account based in the United States (does not include US territories). Zelle does not accept debit postcards or credit cards associated with international deposit accounts.
Can business accounts use Zelle? HOW DO I USE ZELLE?
To send money using Zelle, select somebody from your contacts on your mobile device (or add your trusted recipient’s email or US mobile number), add the amount you want to send and an optional note, review it, and then hit “Send.” In most cases, the money will be available to your recipient within minutes.*
Request money using Zelle, select “Request”, select the individual(s) from whom you wish to solicit money, enter the amount you want to bid, include an optional note, review the details, and press “Request”. To send payment requests or a request to split payments to a US mobile phone number, the mobile phone number must already register with Zelle.
To receive money using Zelle, simply share your email address or your US mobile phone number on file with a friend and ask them to send you cash over Zelle.
SOMEONE SENT ME MONEY WITH ZELLE; HOW DO I RECEIVE IT?
If you are already registered with Zelle, you do not need to take any further action. Money will transferred directly to your bank account, usually within minutes.*
These types of transactions could be high risk (just like sending money to someone you don’t know is high risk). Zelle does not offer a defence program for any authorized payment made with Zelle — for example, if you do not receive the item you paid for, if the thing is not as described, or if it is not what you expected. GECU does not offer a protection program for any purchase or sale made using Zelle.
HOW DOES ZELLE WORK?
When you enrol with Zelle through the GECU Mobile App, your name, the name of your bank, and the email address or US mobile phone number you registered shared with Zelle (no sensitive account data transferred — those data stays with GECU).
When someone sends money to your US email or mobile phone number on file, Zelle looks up the email or mobile number in its “directory” and notifies GECU of the payment that will be received. We then direct the payment to your bank account and keep sensitive account details private.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MONEY FROM ZELLE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE?
Money sent with Zelle usually available minutes to someone already registered.* Ask your friends and family to sign up with Zelle before you send them money —it will help them get paid quickly.
If you send money to someone who hasn’t signed up with Zelle, they’ll get a notification to sign up. After registering, the funds will be transferred directly to the recipient’s account. Once your first payment is complete, your recipient will be able to receive future payments faster.
Your payment is still pending; we endorse that you confirm that the person you sent money to has signed up with Zelle and that you have entered the correct email or US mobile phone number. If you’re waiting to receive money, check to see if you received a payment notification via email or text message.
